Lógos Makes Strategic Hire in Jay Pelton to Lead Architecture Practice

Lógos is announcing a pivotal hire, sparking growth in the company’s Architectural and Engineering (A&E) practice supporting its federal and commercial sectors. Jay Pelton, formerly a principal and Senior Project Architect and Engagement Manager at Array Architects, is now the Practice Area Leader for Architecture with Logos and brings 30+ years of architecture experience to the company’s forefront.

Lógos is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) design firm whose leadership has diverse backgrounds in healthcare transformation, design and planning, energy services, and organizational transformation. Its approach relies on a rich mix of talent, experience, and innovation as it seeks pragmatic, low carbon, and cost-effective solutions. On projects large or small, Logos’ designers find ingenious ways to streamline the process, improve specifications, and out-think problems before they happen. The company’s principals include Charlie Malone, a former Naval Aviator with a 25-year Navy career, and Mitch Patterson, a long-time growth leader supporting companies such as Concourse Federal Group, Markon Solutions, Booz Allen Hamilton, and the Advisory Board.

“It was Lógos’ Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) work and focus on healthcare design that really sparked my interest,” Jay said. “I’ve worked on projects in the VA at Lebanon, Manhattan, Wilkes-Barre, Martinsburg, and the Philadelphia Medical Centers, and have grown to love the mission of the VA. I would like to really build on the work I’ve done already because the work the VA does is truly noble.”

Jay’s career as an intern Architect began in 1990, in both the health care and academic sectors. Early in his career, Jay received diverse experience working in a variety of sectors of architecture as well as education in many architectural styles. In 2001, his career took a significant turn when he joined Ballinger to hone his skills in health care design. While there, he led projects for Bristol-Myers Squibb, Newton Memorial Hospital, CHoP West Campus, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Pennsylvania Hospital and the Penn Medicine HUP main campus. After 6 years with Ballinger, Jay was hired by Array Architects and became a Principal, Senior Project Architect, leading countless projects across the health sector, including numerous efforts supporting the VA. His expertise touches the full spectrum of the healthcare lifecycle, from labor/delivery and neo-natal suites, emergency departments, operating suites, ambulatory care centers, cancer centers, cardiovascular, psychiatric, rehabilitation, senior care and hospice centers.  The result is a project that improves patient wellbeing, staff efficiency and the hospital’s financial bottom-line.

“Many A&E firms are big A, little E, or the other way around. We are striving to have balance to serve our clients in the best way possible,” said Charlie Malone, the CEO of Lógos. “Jay does more than help with balance, he supports the culture of our company, which focuses on empowering its workforce, and mentoring growth. In the early days, Jay mentioned the desire to mentor others. I knew right then that he was the right person to lead our architecture practice.”
