Bringing psychiatric care
into the Emergency Department.
Lógos was contracted to provide professional Architect/Engineer services to relocate the Psychiatric Intervention Center (PIC) to the Emergency Department at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The project renovates approximately 3,000 net square feet on the first floor of Building 19 (OPA). Space redistribution supports rapid medical and psychiatric evaluation while addressing patient privacy, companion needs, noise control, coordinated finishes, and wayfinding.
The multidisciplinary design coordinates building systems, life safety, environmental documentation, and phased work to minimize interruptions to hospital operations.
The scope includes existing-conditions investigations, schematic planning, multidisciplinary design development, and construction documents, with coordinated building systems, life safety, environmental documentation, and phasing to minimize hospital interruptions. Construction-period services and three site visits are unawarded options.
